About virtual Desktops

What are virtual desktops?

Virtual desktops work the same as regular PC computers. They are installed & hosted in the cloud instead of a physical computer. We can provide you with access to a virtual desktop if you need to use specific software that can’t be installed on your computer.

How do I access a virtual desktop?

If you have a computer (Windows or Mac) or tablet (Apple iOS & Android) & Internet access, then all you need is a browser to access a virtual desktop.

We have three (3) virtual desktops

General is preinstalled with Microsoft Office 365 Outlook, Word, Excel & Powerpoint. This is a great option for Dual Credit students using a Chromebook & need access to full features of the software. All enrolled students have been provisioned access to this virtual desktop.

Drafting is preinstalled with software for students taking engineering & other design courses. Software installed includes Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Civil 3D, SolidWorks, CadWorx, and AVEVA Everything3D. You must be enrolled in a pre-approved course to access this virtual desktop.

Adobe is preinstalled with Adobe Creative products you need for your assigned classwork. This is also a great option for Dual Credit students using a Chromebook & need access to full features of the software. You must be enrolled in a pre-approved course to access this virtual desktop.
